A RARE Original TUDOR COUNTRY HOUSE Partial Renovation & Decoration

This farmhouse had been little altered since its construction, and the brief was to retain the original period features whilst making the house more family-friendly. Amanda worked alongside a local architect to add an extension to the service wing and the existing kitchen was doubled in size. Antique oak fragments were combined to create a new chimneypiece in the Sitting Room and the established library atmosphere was enhanced by the oak panelling wrapped around the room containing a jib door and hidden cupboards with faux leather books. Amanda designed the kitchen joinery which was made by a local carpenter. A four-poster bed in the Principal Bedroom is dressed in a copy of an 18th century linen, combined with De Gournay wallpaper within the Tudor framework, and 18th century Chinese bird paintings. The blend of antiques and soft furnishings throughout create a wonderfully understated feel.

Amanda would be delighted to discuss interior projects in which her knowledge and skills in this specialised area of architectural interior design can be effectively employed.
