Amanda Ransom Approach

APPROACH

Amanda Ransom Design’s work embraces both historical and contemporary classical interiors, but the focus is on projects for period or period-style buildings. The team prefers to work collaboratively, gently guiding and advising clients rather than pushing them in any design direction that they may be uncomfortable with. A benefit of working with someone of Amanda’s experience is that if a client prefers more contemporary elements, knowledge of correct historic details and how they can be adapted allows good decisions to be made in the treatment of a listed building from the outset.

Amanda Ransom Style

STYLE

Amanda’s personal preference is for a layered interior that respects the building and its past life. Her belief is that houses are better designed when they feel comfortable and timeless. The evocative memories and sensory quality of a building can be particularly resonant in an historic interior, and how Amanda interprets this allows her to bring extra depth and interest to the project.

Amanda Ransom Project Size

SCALE

Amanda Ransom Design takes on projects of all sizes and budgets, from single rooms to full turnkey commissions, for both private individuals and property developers. Services include the production of hand drawn or technical CAD designs, which can include furniture layouts, joinery, kitchen and bathroom design, lighting and electrical schemes. A full and easily understandable programme for fixtures, fittings and equipment is provided and there is total transparency on budgeting.

Amanda Ransom Collaboration

COLLABORATION

Amanda Ransom Design collaborates closely with expert craftsmen including cabinet makers, carvers, conservators, curtain and furniture makers, specialist painters and upholsterers. Amanda is also skilled at sourcing bespoke items according to a client’s wishes. Using long-established contacts in the art and antiques world, the team can help locate rare items and advise on the valuation and care of precious pieces.

“Amanda has a wonderful sense of style, feeling for colour and a meticulous eye for detail.
